This was the first weekend that Paul, Charlie and I will be home together with nothing else going on. Paul had a conference Saturday morning but other than that we were free to do anything.
On Friday Charlie and I went to a Real World Workshop for doctor's spouses. They made us lunch and answered questions we have about residency, jobs, paying down debt, etc. It was so nice to hear other women talk about things they struggle with and misconceptions about being a doctor's wife (we have nothing to do and lots of money). They talked about how it is similar to being a single parent at times. I am sure that I have it a lot better than some because Paul is in opthamology and his hours aren't as crazy as other specialties. I met one of the opthamologist's wives and she took Charlie for the lunch so I actually got to listen to people talk and eat lunch when it was still warm!
The last 6 years haven't been easy, but I am so proud of Paul and how hard he has worked.
We also tried out a new church this weekend. One of Paul's coworkers recommended it so we trekked across town on Sunday to see what we thought. They have an amazing children's program. We checked Charlie in through an elaborate computer system (crazy) and dropped her off in the nursery with other crawlers! The service was great and it was nice to be out around other adults.
We are proud of Paul but also of you, we know it is not an easy trek that you have been on and are so appreciaative of all that you do. Paul is a very lucky guy to have such a beautiful, giving and hard working wife.
