Girlie girl.

Thanksgiving/Christmas.

We went home for a day to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas early.  Paul is on call during Thanksgiving and I shouldn't be traveling anywhere a week before my due date so Christmas is out this year too.  Charlie and I dropped Paul off at the Iowa game and we headed up to Cedar Falls.  He got very lucky this year with seeing two of the best games at Kinnick in quite awhile.  Saturday night we had lobster at the Boeke's with Uncle Scott.

We went to my parent's Sunday and got to see Barb, Bill, Euny, Wilbur, and my parents.  Charlie is still not very into opening Christmas presents.  She had the attention span for about 2 gifts and then wanted to play with them, the bow, box, etc.  We got to have Brown Bottle lasagna for lunch and pumpkin pie for dessert.   We stopped back over at the Boeke's to catch their Thanksgiving before we left town.   The ride home was foggy and long because we got stuck behind a big accident.  It made for a really long day,but we were glad that we got to see people.

Halloween.

We hit up three different spots this year for trick or treating.  We went downtown Columbia first.  Most of the businesses passed out candy.  Then we went to Hy-Vee.  They do a really good job of passing out apples, granola bars, pudding, balloons, as well as candy.  We tried to stop at the Hearnes Center (old basketball arena) but it was filled with so many big kids that we ditched out early.   This is the first year that Charlie knew what was going on trick or treating.  She got really excited to get more candy and constantly wanted to stop and eat what she had.  The quote of the day was ,"Should we get more trick or treat candy?"

We stopped over at Paul's coworker house after we were done.  Charlie loves their house.  They have a puppy, a toy helicopter, and they are really good with her.  Charlie loves all of the people Paul works with and talks about them all the time at home.

Kentucky.

The whole family went to Lexington, Kentucky last weekend for Paul's fellowship interview.  It was very pretty and around 75 the whole time we were there.  It is weird to think there is a possibility we could be moving there in June.  We had a day and half together to check out the city.  We found some good restaurants, parks, and where all of the important things are (mall, Trader Joes, etc).  During Paul's interview Charlie and I went to Monkey Joes.   It is a bounce house/game center for kids.  Charlie met a girl her age and had a blast running around, bouncing, and going down really tall slides.
