Charlie's first haircut.

Charlie's hair is growing pretty slowly, at least on the top and front.  I have cut the back many, but I finally decided that she should go to a professional.  I was worried that she would freak out about getting wet or having someone that she doesn't know mess with her hair.  She got to sit in a special car seat, ate Fruit Loops, and watch Mickey Mouse on a big t.v..  The lady that cut her hair was really good with her.  She just cut a little off the bottom and added some layers and mousse to make her curls look better.  It turned out to be so much better than we hoped for.

Going to work with Daddy.

Paul has the week off this week.  He has a lot of paperwork to do for his fellowship so we all went into the hospital to get some things done.  All of the women stopped us to look at the girls, and Charlie got Minnie Mouse coloring sheets printed out for her.  She found the phone in the office and tried to call everyone that she knows.

Grandparents.

All of the grandparents have spent some time here with Charlie and Georgia in the last couple of weeks.  Charlie loves to show off all her toys and to entertain them with singing, dancing, and stories.

What we will miss most about Missouri.

The warm weather in the middle of January.  Paul has this week off and we have been able to be outside.  Charlie and Paul have gone to the park everyday and they have been playing soccer together in our yard.

Little Kickers.

Charlie started a soccer program, Little Kickers, last week.  The first day was rough and she was too shy to play.  The second time around she ran onto the field, grabbed a ball, and played with the other kids.  She still has a hard time doing one activity for 45 minutes.  We signed her up for the 3-5 year olds class so maybe she isn't quite ready for it.  It was a lot of fun to see her run around, dribble, and try to juggle the ball.

New pics of Charlie and Georgia.

Charlie has gotten spoiled the last two weeks with her grandparents being in town.  She has gone to Flipz gymnastics, Tiger Bounce House twice, swimming, Chuck E. Cheese, and has gotten more treats than in her previous 2 years.  Georgia is getting used to sleeping at night a bit more.  We are getting about 3 hours in between feedings.  Charlie loves to see her and help me with getting diapers, burping her, playing her music, and letting me know when she is crying.  I have caught them just staring at each other many times if I walk out of the room for a minute.  I can only hope that this lasts!

Georgia has been pretty easy going so far.  She only really cries when she is hungry or getting her diaper changed.  She has done well in the car and on trips to Target, Hy-Vee, and around town.  She still seems so tiny.  At two weeks I am pretty sure she is still much smaller than Charlie when she was born.  She has long feet and hands and a birthmark on her leg.  All of her bruising and jaundice has gone away and she has got great color.

Paul has taken time off work each week on non surgery days to help.  We have gotten a lot of food from family and friends.  Next week he will be home the whole week to hang out with us.  It is a major change to switch from one almost 3 year old to two kids, but we are learning as we go.

Georgia Avery Boeke

Georgia was born on Friday, January 2nd at 10:13 a.m.  I had a repeat csection after showing no signs that I would go into labor anytime soon.  This time around was a lot easier on me and I am guessing for Paul  too.  She had some bruising from pushing down on my pelvis, but is otherwise very healthy.  We think she looks a lot like Charlie.  It is amazing the things we have forgotten in the last 3 years about taking care of a baby.  It is slowly coming back, and we are enjoying time with her.  Charlie seems interested in Georgia, and has been giving her kisses.  We are excited to take her home and be more comfortable.   It is hard to believe we are now a family of four!
