This week.

Charlie has been saying some funny things this week.  My favorite are:

Mom, my legs are tall!

Excuse you. 

Gesundheit.

I asked her what was in her hand.  She looked at it for awhile said,"Ummm..., my fingers"

No thanks.  (to everything.  naptime, changing her diaper, leaving the park, etc.)

McKnights.

We went to Liberty, MO to visit the Dustin, Goldie, Charlotte, and Max last weekend.  They were our very first friends when we moved to Columbia and we are really missing them since they moved a month ago. Dustin was a year ahead of Paul in the Opthalmology program at Mizzou.  Within a week of us moving to Columbia they invited us over for a barbecue.  We were nervous, but it turned out to be so easy with them.  Charlotte and Max were Charlie's first friends.

We had a great weekend with them.  We hung out at their pool during the day and then went out to eat for dinner.  For some reason when the three kids are together they usually end up naked.  They ran around outside playing basketball with no clothes on.

16 weeks.

Paul and I are excited to be expecting again! I am due on January 2nd.   I know I will forget everything about the pregnancy if I don't write it down so here goes again...

How far along? 16 weeks tomorrow

Total weight gain:  4 pounds but feels like 20
Maternity clothes?  Just starting to wear them again. I bought a belly band so I can wear my regular pants.  I try to buy clothes from regular stores to avoid maternity store prices and styles.  Express is my favorite store for comfortable shirts and gap maternity jeans are somewhat normal looking.
Stretch marks? Not yet.
Sleep:  not great but only waking up once or twice a night. Having crazy dreams and Chloe is an awful sleeper. 

Best moment this week: spending the day in St. Louis with Paul and Charlie
Miss Anything? sushi, beer, wine, margaritas, gin and tonics, deli meat, Moscow mules
Movement: nothing yet, hopefully soon
Food cravings:  Chinese food, s'mores, pizza, lasagna
Anything making you queasy or sick:  nothing, but have to eat in small amounts all throughout the day.
Gender:  find out in a month.
Labor Signs: no. 
Symptoms:  nosebleeds, feeling my uterus and hips stretching, tired.
Belly Button in or out?  In but already starting to change
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: happy. Still at the point where it doesn't feel real yet.  Once we have an ultrasound and the baby starts moving I think I will feel better. 

Looking forward to: finding out the gender, feeling him or her move and Charlie and Paul feeling the baby kick

St. Louis Zoo and Grant's Farm.

We had the perfect weather yesterday to be outside.  We got to the zoo around noon and spent a couple hours walking around and looking at all the animals.  It is always funny to see what Charlie likes and gets the most excited about (ducks, tigers, and elephants).   We were exhausted by the time we left but still wanted to see Grant's Farm as long as we were in St.Louis.

The tram ride in was fun and we were really surprised by the amount of animals that were there.  Charlie loved feeding the ducks, chickens, and giving a goat a bottle of milk.  She was starting to wear down but did great for such a long day without a nap.  Before we left we sat in the beer garden, eating hot dogs and listening to polka.   Both of these places were on my bucket list for the summer and I am glad it went so well.

3rd year.

It is so nice this year with Paul being the second call.  We can plan things and go places on the weekend.  We still drive separately and know that he could have to go in, but it is a nice change.  Yesterday we went to the farmer's market and the pool during the day.  

We had some friends over at night for a fire in the backyard and smores.  Charlie's favorite friend of ours is Michael, a 2nd year.  She talks about him a lot and gets so excited when he comes over.  She shows him all of her toys and just wants him to play with her.
