Charlie is 3.

Charlie had her 3rd birthday yesterday.  I wanted to try and make it special since we were just at home, the three of us.  We started our day at Hy-Vee.  Charlie got her favorite, a doughnut with purple sprinkles.  After we ate we picked up her Frozen cake from the bakery.  As we got into the car she said,"The lady did a great job with my cake!".

We went home for a couple hours so we could Skype with both sets of grandparents.  Paul came home for lunch to surprise her.  I had told her that when Papa came home we could open presents and eat cake so I had to hold up my end of the bargain.

Charlie, Georgia and I went to the Bounce House in the afternoon.  I attempted to keep up with her as she ran all over the place and flying down the slides.  We spent the rest of the afternoon playing with her toys and watching Paw Patrol.  Charlie skyped with Shannon, Olivia and Emma and we had pizza and cake for dinner.

Paul and I have been telling her that when she turns 3 she is a big girl and has to start wearing big girl underwear.  Yesterday she asked to wear them.  We have tried a couple of times before but have regressed back to diapers.  I am hoping it sticks this time!

Funny things she has said lately:

"Not today"... to everything, diapers, eating, naps, baths, etc.
I'm just teasing.
Hold on...I'm just going to look at my bootie in the mirror.
My name is Charlie...because I like bubbles.
With my friend daddy.
"Shake it off" comes on the radio. "I don't have my drum.  Should I shake it off with my feet or something?

Favorite things:
loves purple and pink
Surprise eggs
Paw patrol
waffles
play doh
Bounce House
swimming
having Papa throw her on the bed
playing with her grandparents
blue Gatorade

Charlie is so sweet, smart, funny, and is so much fun to be around.  She wears me out with all of the engery that she has.  She gives the best hugs.  Charlie has been a wonderful big sister.  She brings Georgia toys, gives her kisses, and always ends up right next to her.  She is very strong willed and wants to do everything on her own terms.  I love her so much!

Mani Pedi Monday.

I bought Charlie red and pink Piggy polish for Valentine's Day.   Today we painted her toenails, one foot red and one foot pink.

Charlie in CF.

Charlie went with Grandma Julie to CF on Tuesday and spent the rest of the week with both grandparents.  She went to a bounce house, went sledding, shopping, and had lots of treats.   Paul and I came on Friday with Georgia.  We forgot how much easier it is to have a small baby that you can take everywhere with you.  I had a good couple of days getting things organized at our house for our move.  She did great on the 5 hour car ride and handled many people holding her really well.

We got to celebrate Charlie's birthday early and a lot of people got to meet Georgia. It was a nice weekend at home.

Paul and I went out to eat two times all by ourselves!  We went to Montage for Valentine's Day and Mulligans for lunch.   It was really nice to be out by ourselves and we even got a little time with our friends.  Georgia slept for 7 to 8 hours each night which was a treat!  She loves being swaddled, just like Charlie.  We are lucky that both of the girls have been sleeping really well.

Busy Weekend.

We had a fun weekend.  Saturday morning we went to soccer for Charlie.  We left from there and drove to Kansas City to see Disney's Pirates and Princesses.  The whole show they asked if you wanted to be a pirate or a princess.  We asked Charlie after the show and she said she just wanted to be Charlie.

After the show we went to the McKnights house.  Charlie got to play with Charlotte and Max and it was nice for us to socialize with people and get out of the house.  Georgia did great in the car and slept through most of the show.

On Sunday the weather was perfect so we spent it outside.  I took Georgia for a long walk around the neighborhood and we all went to a new park to play.  We even grilled hamburgers for dinner.  We are ready for spring and to play outside again!

1 month.

Georgia is one month today.  She is sleeping at 3 or 4 hours at a time at night and has gained quite a bit of weight since she was born.  She looks a lot like Charlie did at this age.  Georgia has a birthmark on her leg and long skinny feet.  She has very little hair, most of it in the back. She is a good cuddler and loves to look at her big sister.

Snow.

Today we had the first real snow of the winter.  Charlie was really excited to wake up and see actual snow on the ground.  She wanted to make a snowman, ride in her sled, and do snow angels.  We don't have real winter gear for her since it hasn't been cold this winter.  We are definitely going to have to stock up before next year in Wisconsin.  We didn't have any carrots or coal so Paul and Charlie used Fruit Loops for the snowman's eyes, nose, mouth, and buttons.
